Frequently Asked Questions.

There are some questions that I’m frequently asked. So, I thought I’d put them together for you. Hope you find this helpful.

I have a poem that I would really like to have in Calligraphy. Is this something you can help me with?

Yes, absolutely! Please feel free to contact me and let’s start exploring.

How far in advance should I book you?

The earlier the better. Calligraphy is an artistic craft. It requires focus and patience. Everything I created is with care.

My calendar has been known to be fully booked especially coming up to seasonal festivals, celebrations and events.  So, the earlier you are booked in, the better it is for you and me. It allows me to make sure that I have allocated enough time for your commission.

I don’t like to rush but I always accommodate you if you haven’t left enough time. See: Have I left it too late?)

Did you stop at this question because you are getting married or organising an event?

Then you will probably want to know how long it will take me to inscribe your invitations, envelopes and/ or place cards.

I normally allow ten days to two weeks for a small to average wedding. Although during these very unusual times – it’s mainly small and intimate weddings.

It always best to contact me ahead of time. And, that way I can make sure I serve you the best.

How much do you charge?

Because every customer’s needs are individual it is difficult to answer this question. The best thing to do is contact me, I’m more than happy to chat with you about what your needs are. After which, I will tailor a quote for you.

Can you write my guest names on my invitations and envelopes?

Yes, it would my pleasure. Send me your details and let’s get started.

What the process of working with you?

I work closely with my customers. We begin our journey together from the moment you connect with me. Whether it’s designing stationery, creating a piece of calligraphy art. Or, inscribing your guest names on your invitations, envelopes, place cards or escort cards.

For me, my service is as important as what I create for you. Once I have started your commission you will receive regular updates from me.

I always find that past customers experience is always the best way to give you an idea of what the process of working with me. Click here to read what Debbie said about working with me.

What is your turn around time?

Each customer’s requirement is different. We will normally establish the timeline during our first conversation. In general, for intimate small weddings or events, I would allow a week to 10 days. For the larger weddings, I’d allow 2 weeks or more. Whereas, artwork takes longer.

It’s always best to get in contact with me as soon as you can and allow me as much time you can allow.

Help! I literally just decided that I’d like some calligraphy. Have I left it too late?

It’s never really too late. I can accommodate rush orders. Which normally means that I have to juggle my bookings around to slot you in. And, as long as I can still meet my existing customer’s deadlines, I’m happy to help you.

Please be aware that rush orders do mean there will be an additional charge of 50% -75% incurred.

If I can’t accommodate you I will refer you another calligrapher who I trust to look after you.
