Welcome back to Scribing Journeys, live on Holistic Radio! In this week’s episode, I had the absolute pleasure of chatting with the incredible Jenny Luscombe: therapist, healer, teacher, and passionate advocate for holistic approaches to healing.
This conversation? It was honest, raw, and deeply moving.
From Psychology Student to Spiritual Therapist
Jenny began her career in mental health and education, but quickly saw cracks in the system. Whether it was how psychiatric meds were prescribed or how literacy was taught, she kept asking, “Where’s the love?” She didn’t set out to be a whistleblower but she just couldn’t ignore the injustice.
It wasn’t long before Jenny realised she wasn’t just a whistleblower. She was what her Gene Keys reading would later call a “system buster.”
Discovering EFT: When Everything Changed
Jenny’s life took a major turn when she became a mother. As her own childhood traumas resurfaced, she began seeking healing and stumbled across Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), also known as tapping.
“I thought it was bonkers,” Jenny laughed. “Tapping your face and healing your trauma? Come on!”
But she gave it a try. And to her surprise, it worked.
She started with YouTube videos by Brad Yates, and the results were powerful. Not just emotionally, but physically. Chronic back pain she’d carried for years disappeared. Not through medication, but through acknowledging and releasing suppressed emotions.
That’s when she realised: our bodies remember. Our emotions matter.
She described EFT as a tool that gently wakes you up to your truth. It opened the door to learning more for Jenny. She expanded into the Emotion and Body Code, muscle testing, and even quantum healing. Which are all ways of listening to the body and working with energy to support healing. She describes it as a natural evolution.
“As you heal more, your frequency rises, and you’re drawn to deeper layers of truth.”

Inner Child & Shadow Work: Healing from the Root
Jenny broke down shadow work and inner child healing in the most accessible way I’ve ever heard. She shared how we often fragment parts of ourselves in childhood, emotions like anger or sadness so that we feel safe and accepted.
By going back and working with those “lost” parts, we can bring them back into wholeness. She even guided us through a sample process of doing this with EFT, a powerful, imaginative way to time-travel, meet your younger self, and give them what they needed most.
It’s not about fixing. It’s about listening. Honouring. Healing.
Shadow work and inner child healing are about bringing those pieces back home, with compassion. It’s deep, personal, and beautifully transformative.
What About Grief
We also talked about grief, not just from death, but from lost relationships or parts of ourselves.
Jenny reminded us how important it is to let grief move through the body, to allow it instead of suppressing it. She encourages us to feel it fully, without rushing through it. She says EFT can help us process those big emotions gently, at our own pace.
Her advice? Be with the feeling. Let your body lead. EFT can gently guide you through each layer of pain, eventually leading to resolution, or even a new kind of connection with the person you’ve lost.
Final Thoughts: Let the Body Be Your Guide
This episode was rich with insights, but what stuck with me most was this:
“When it’s you helping you, there is no one else who knows you better.”
Jenny Luscombe
Jenny’s story is a reminder that healing isn’t one-size-fits-all. But with tools like EFT, the Emotion Code, and a willingness to look within, we can all reclaim our wholeness, one gentle step at a time.
Jenny reminded us that healing isn’t just for therapists or gurus. It starts with us, and a willingness to look within, we can all reclaim our wholeness, one gentle step at a time.
